Kerning

Kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between type in a proportional font. The purpose is to achieve a visually pleasing result. If a font is well-kerned, the two-dimensional blank spaces between each pair of characters all have a visually similar area. The serifs on a character usually line up when bringing type closer to each other. This is makes the font look pleasing to the eye. This is an example of a type that I kerned.
